Dear VRE Riders:  On Tuesday, Decem=
ber 1st, in the afternoon and evening, VRE will have a film cr=
ew at Washington’s&nbs=
p;
Union Station and at the VRE L’Enfant Station filming a se=
gment for the “World’s Greatest” TV show.  The fil=
m crew will film passengers boarding VRE trains and will film on-board tr=
ain 305 leaving Union Station at 3:25 pm (per our new schedule).  A =
non-quiet car on train 305 will be selected for filming and a sign posted=
on the car exterior will advise riders of the filming.  Please be a=
dvised, if you board this specific car you may be on national TV in the f=
uture.  Thanks for your understanding and we will do all we can to m=
inimize interference the film crew could cause your commute.

Please Remember to Purchase a D=
ecember Monthly Ticket

There is a grac=
e period for all monthly tickets where the previous month’s pass will be =
valid through the end of next month’s first
service day. For example, November monthly tickets expire at the end of
the day on December 1. This is true for both paper and VRE Mobile=20
tickets and gives you some time to get those passes purchased.

Also,
since we are on the topic of VRE Mobile, if you are the app to purchase
your monthly pass and you receive some sort of benefit that doesn’t=20
cover the entire cost of your ticket, please be sure to click the “Split
Payment” button at the “Select Payment” screen. Here is a quick video on sp=
lit payments
so you can see it in action. Please make sure you see the slider=20
function to ensure you are using split payment properly. Also, please=20
make sure your app is the latest update (the version number is shown in=20=

the =93Help=94 section of the app and should be 1.0.11). We were=20
experiencing issues with the split payment button not responding and the
latest update resolves that.

Did you buy a new smartphone over the weekend?

If you bought a new smartphone, you must make sure =
you transfer your tickets from your phone to your online account first, s=
o that you don’t accidentally lose any tickets.

Your tickets are stored on
your phone (which makes it possible to use them without an internet
connection), so you need to transfer your tickets from your phone to your=

online account before activating your new device.

If you don’t have access to your old phone, pleas=
e contact our VRE Mobile helpdesk at feeback@vre.org or 844.353.3408 so w=
e can get your tickets to your new phone.

Here’s how to transfer your tickets:

=

Step 1: Login to your account at http://v=
re.transitsherpa.com
from a
computer.

Step 2:
On the website, navigate to the My Tickets section and then click on the
=93Transfer Tickets=94 button.

Step 3:
On the app on your old device or instance of the app, refresh your ticket=
s; the
tickets will be removed from your old device and sent back to your web ac=
count.

Step 4:
To download the tickets on your new device, reinstall the app, sign into =
your
account and refresh your tickets.

*To refresh the passes on an
Android phone touch the refresh icon in the top right hand corner of the =
app.
The icon looks like a circle with an arrow on it. To refresh the passes o=
n an
iPhone drag your finger from the top of the app to the bottom of the app.=

The app will open to My Tickets. Less menus to get through when =
the conductor asks to see your ticket. (You still have to switch over fro=

ure you know the amount(s) being charged to your selected payment type(s)=
.Spotsylvania Station will be a select-able station.Many more im=
provements in the back-end!

This is a reminder that VRE is operati=
ng on an “S” Schedule today Friday, November 27th which means the on=
ly trains that will run are the ones listed with an “S” above its train n=
umber on the published schedule. Amtrak Step-Up tickets will be =
honored this day provided the train has seats open.

Regular VRE service will resume on Monday, November 3=
0 with a new schedule. See below.

Times They Are A-Changing (Literally!)=

We recently opened a new station, launched a new website and starting =
on the last day of the month, we are changing to a new schedule that adds=
a roundtrip train to the Fredericksburg Line! Beca=
use we were able to add a new train, it gave us the opportunity to revisi=
t the Manassas Line schedule to make the schedule fo=
r mid-line stations more accurate and avoid conflict when the Fredericksb=
urg and Manassas Line trains meet at Alexandria.
