Did you buy an Apple iPhone 6S or Upgrade to iOS9? | Android Marsh=
mallow will be released later this fall

If you jus=
t
upgrade your operating system to iOS 9 or Marshmallow, your app wil=
l remain as is. Exceptions: if you restore from a previous backup or you =
delete the app and re-install. If you plan on doing this, please read the=
rest of this item because you will need to do the same thing as users ge=
tting a new device.

If you bought a new iPhone or o=
ther smartphone, you must make sure you transfer your tickets from your p=
hone to your online account first, so that you don’t accidentally lose an=
y tickets.

Your tickets are stored on
your phone (which makes it possible to use them without an internet
connection), so you need to transfer your tickets from your phone to your=

online account before activating your new device.

 

Here’s how to transfer your tickets:

Step 1: Login to your account at http:=
//v
re.transitsherpa.com
from a
computer.

Step 2:
On the website, navigate to the My Tickets section and then click on the
=93Transfer Tickets=94 button.

Step 3:
On the app on your old device or instance of the app, refresh your ticket=
s; the
tickets will be removed from your old device and sent back to your web ac=
count.

Step 4:
To download the tickets on your new device, reinstall the app, sign into =
your
account and refresh your tickets.

*To refresh the passes on an
Android phone touch the refresh icon in the top right hand corner of the =
app.
The icon looks like a circle with an arrow on it. To refresh the passes o=
n an
iPhone drag your finger from the top of the app to the bottom of the app.=

This is a reminder for all monthly pass-holders to remember to purc=
hase a October monthly ticket.

There is a grace period for all monthly tickets where the previous mon=
th’s pass will be valid through the end of next month’s first service day. For example, September monthly tickets expire at the e=
nd of the day on October1. This is true for both paper and VRE Mobile tic=
kets and gives you some time to get those passes purchased.

Also, since we are on the topic of VRE Mobile, if you are the app to p=
urchase your monthly pass and you receive some sort of benefit that doesn=
‘t cover the entire cost of your ticket, please be sure to click the “Spl=
it Payment” button at the “Select Payment” screen. Here is a quick video on split payments so you =
can see it in action. Please make sure you see the slider function to ens=
ure you are using split payment properly. Also, please make sure your app=
is the latest update (the version number is shown in the “Help&rdq=
uo; section of the app and should be 1.0.11). We were experiencing issues=
with the split payment button not responding and the latest update resol=
ves that.
