VRE Firecracker Trains for 2014 – Survey

VRE Firecracker Trains for 2014

Survey

Over the years we’ve had =
many requests to reinstate our Fourth of July Firecracker trains. This wo=
uld require us to run a special train with a special ticket (regular VRE =
tickets would not be accepted). We believe it is time to revisit this ser=
vice option.

We are looking for feedba=
ck to see
how much demand for such a train exists. If you would be interested in future Firecracker trains, or if you si=
mply like to fill out surveys, please visit http://www.surveymonkey.com/s=

re your train riding expectations and to help you understand why certain =
delays occur check out our latest GOTRAINS blog entry at   h=

Equipment Swaps this Afternoon

Biggest Trains will be on Fredericksburg #303 and Manassas #327 &=
329

Since for most of you, this is the last workday before the Independenc=
e Day weekend, we expect the biggest loads on Fredericksburg Line Train #=
303 (departing Union Station at 3:35pm), Manassas Line Train #327 (depart=
ing Union Station at 3:45pm), and Manassas Line Train #329 (Departs Union=
Station at 4:25pm). As a result, these are the longest trains today to b=
etter accommodate the riders leaving early for the holiday weekend. Also,=
Fredericksburg #301 (Departs Union Station at 12:55p) will have sev=
en cars today instead of the normal four while Manassas #325 (Departs Uni=
on Station at 1:15p) will have seven open cars.

Please remember that VRE will not operate service on Thursday, July 4t=
h in observance of Independence Day. We will operate a reduced “S” schedu=
le on Friday, July 5th.  Any train noted with an “S” will operate.&n=
bsp; We will resume normal service on Monday, July 8th.

Enjoy the long weekend and as always, thanks for riding VRE.
