Manassas Rail Festival

This Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The City of Manassas is a railway town, with ties going back as far as=
the Civil War, and it played a key role in delivering supplies to both U=
nion and Confederate Armies. History aside, the Manassas depot is alive s=
till today with VRE and Amtrak customers alike. For nineteen years, we=E2=
=80=99ve celebrated this rail heritage the first Saturday in June (June 1=
st), from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the Manassas Rail Festival, an annual ev=
ent that draws over 30,000 railway enthusiasts to Manassas.

This family friendly event offers something fo=
r everyone=E2=80=94from the train novice to the seasoned buff, we have el=
aborate train displays, speeders, antique farm equipment on the museum la=
wn, over twenty vendors, and activities that celebrate one of the greates=
t transportation contributions made to our country.

By far, the most alluring attractions are the scenic =
excursion rides which are affordably priced at $5.00 per person to Clifto=
n and back. Imagine the thrill of boarding a train with your young enthus=
iast, and experiencing our beautiful city through their eyes as the world=
goes ticking by, both changed and unchanged by time. To take a train is =
to embark on a journey, and that journey begins in Manassas.
