Equipment Swaps this Afternoon

=20

It is Good Friday and we are operating a full and normal schedule. A l=
ot of riders have taken the day off but many of the commuters that are wo=
rking do tend to take off early. Because of that, we have switched around=
some of the trainsets on the Fredericksburg Line to accommodate. Manassa=
s trainsets will remain the same as our records show that the normal line=
up will accommodate. Below are the Fredericksburg trains and how many car=
s they will have:

Fredericksburg Line

301 (Departs Union Station 12:55p) 6 cars

303 (Departs Union Station 3:35p) 8 cars

305 (Departs Union Station 4:10p) 7 cars

307 (Departs Union Station 4:40p) 6 cars

309 (Departs Union Station 5:15p) 6 cars

311 (Departs Union Station 6:00p) 5 cars

313 (Departs Union Station 6:40p) 4 cars

See you tomorrow, but first…

=

See you tomorrow, but first…

=20

See you tomorrow…

We hope you weathered w=
hat turned out to be a truly messy spring storm without losing too many s=
hrubs, tree limbs or worse. While it shut our operations down for the day=
, the best part about the situation is that we know where we stand for to=
morrow’s service.

Last evening, =
we sent out a list of things to consider before going to bed to ensure yo=
ur safety and preparedness. Tonight’s we’d like to remind you to be wary =
of less obvious concerns than strain from shoveling or using your entire =
snow day to watch the Golf Channel.

Tomorrow -

The slush/sn=
ow mixture out there is like paste. Be wary when walking through any smal=
l piles of it that you may have accumulated some in the defined heel of y=
our shoe. If you continue to walk on it, it can compact and make traction=
very difficult on smooth surfaces.

Also, it is very possible that more trees could come down over the nig=
ht. Some of the access roads to our stations are unlit, curvy and heavily=
bound by trees. Take some extra time to drive slowly to better respond t=
o a tree fallen across the road or an emergency crew dealing with a tree =
or power line along the side of the road.

Ponding water. This will be an issue we’ll face for a few days ahe=
ad. The melting began as soon as it fell and it will continue at a rapid =
rate. Low spots in many roadways, especially those along creeks, culverts=
and beaver dams will likely have water in them.

Lastly, we’d like to remind those of you on the upper lev=
els of the cars to be wary of where you place your feet. When conditions =
are slushy, we often receive numerous emails from passengers sitting bene=
ath the open gallery who get slush dripped on them.

Thanks and we’ll look forward to seeing you in t=
he morning.
