Franconia/Springfield Renovations

The Franconia/Springfield rehabilitations will begin today Thursday, September 15th. The contractor will be working outside of peak travel times, but please be aware that the platform and stairs will be under construction for the next three months. Passengers should be mindful of signs and temporary fencing/blockades that will be placed throughout the work. The platform will remain open and work will be performed nearby.

We are planning to renovate the stairs as well and will send out another notification when the stairwell on the VRE side will close and a temporary stair structure will be opened to accommodate passengers. These stairs will be adjacent to the existing stair tower and will open at the same levels. The elevator will remain in service and unaffected.

Lastly, as the whole station will be repainted (platform, stairs, railings, etc.) we ask that passengers do not lock their bicycles to the back of the station and remove any locks on the railing. Any bicycles or locks attached to the station will be CUT and REMOVED next Friday, September 23rd, in the morning. Thank you for your compliance and understanding.
