1) Holiday Train Service

As a reminder, VRE will operate on the “S” schedule tomorrow, December 30. Only those trains designated with an “S” on the schedule will operate.

VRE will NOT operate on Friday, December 31. Regular service will resume on Monday, January 3. Happy New Year!

2) On-Line Forum Next Week

Join us for another on-line forum on Wednesday, January 5 at 12:00 noon. Joining VRE’s CEO, Dale Zehner, will be Scott Treece, Keolis Transportation Manager for the Manassas Line.

3) Upcoming Holiday

While we know that we aren’t quite out of the holiday season yet, we want to remind you that another holiday is fast approaching. In a little less than 3 weeks, VRE will not operate service on Monday, January 17, 2011 in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.

Current Delays:

Manassas Train #330 (Departs Broad Run at 7:20a) 53 minutes late.
Manassas Train #332 (Departs Broad Run at 7:50a) 31 minutes late.

Manassas 330 on the move. Manassas Train 332 is operating approx. 10 minutes behind Train 330.

Metro option still available.

Mechanical still working on problem.

The Metro option has been opened for riders. Show your VRE ticket to the station manager for entry.

In the event that they are unable to resolve the issues, Manassas Train #332 (Departs Broad Run at 7:50a) will couple to train 330 and push into Union Station.

This message is for Fredericksburg Line riders:

Delays to Train 309

Fredericksburg Line train #309 (Departs Union Station at 5:15p) is experiencing delays of about 20 minutes following an Amtrak train. Once the Amtrak train heads down the Manassas Line, train 309 will be able to resume normal speed.

This message is for all VRE riders:

VRE to Operate Full Service on Monday, December 27

VRE will operate its full regular service tomorrow. As usual, we would like to take this moment to remind you to be safe.

-> Wear sensible shoes and warm clothing.
-> Allow yourself plenty of time to get to the station and walk safely to the platform.
-> Hold onto handrails whenever using stairs and ramps, including when boarding and detraining.
-> Ramps and elevated surfaces may be slightly icy despite repeated treatments. Please be exercise caution.
