Please park in designated spaces only. Do not block in cars by parking to close to the other vehicle and do not park in these hatched or lined out end spaces.

Thank You.

4) Motorcycle parking

Did you know that we have parking spaces dedicated specifically for motorcycles?

For those riders who park in Fredericksburg, Leeland Road and Brooke, please be aware of this dedicated motorcycle parking at each of these stations, 3 spaces at lot D in Fredericksburg, 2 spaces at Leeland Road and 1 space at Brooke.

Warm weather is on its way and more motorcycles will be on the roads, so please pay attention to the signs and do not park your car in these spots.

Train Talk:Weekly Newsletter
March 23, 2010 2:19 PM

The following is in this edition of Train Talk:
1) Tonight: Public Hearing in Burke regarding proposed service changes
2) Be Safe from Vandals

1) Tonight: Public Hearing in Burke regarding proposed service changes

Join us tonight, 7pm, at the Burke Centre Conservancy (The Commons Community Center, 5701 Roberts Parkway, Burke, VA 22015) for the third of six public hearings on the proposed service changes.

The fourth public hearing will be held tomorrow at the PRTC Board Room (2nd Floor 14700 Potomac Mills Road, Woodbridge, VA 22192).

We are taking public feedback very seriously and are continuing to rework our proposal based on rider comments, so if you would like to have your say, please come to the hearings.

The service changes would include the addition of a Fredericksburg express train as well as the possible morning termination and evening origination of two train sets at the L Enfant VRE station. 2) Be Safe from Vandals

Spring Break is around the corner, which is usually prime time for vandalism. We will eventually be getting cameras at some of the stations and Fairfax County has hired a security contractor to eventually patrol the Burke Centre garage. In the meantime, while the new contractor is being put in place, we will be using one of our security contractors to watch the garage temporarily during this upcoming spring break period.

Here are some things you can do to help keep your vehicles safe:

Park your car in a place that is well lit.

Keep your car uncluttered. Don’t have electronic devices, valuables, laptops, backpacks or purses, packages, or anything at all important inside your car and on display. Avoid tempting vandals and thieves with inviting items in full view.

Add a security system decal. This can often fool a vandal into thinking you have an alarm system, but make sure it's from a real security system.

Install a steering wheel locking device. This won't keep people from vandalizing your car, but it will prevent theft and often the two go hand in hand.

Always take your keys with you. Don’t leave a set of spare keys inside the car; experienced car thieves know where to look for them.

Roll up all your windows and lock your doors.
